About Yoga at Breathe Holistic Health

Breathe Holistic Health is a boutique integrative health clinic, and we believe that by practicing yoga through our integrative health care team, we can deliver the best possible yoga experience and help you achieve your specific health goals, and in turn, maximise your success for a healthier and happier life.  We provide yoga as part of a holistic approach to enhancing your health care plan and achieving the best possible health outcomes.  We offer both specialty and general yoga classes to suit people from all walks of life. Yoga poses can be adapted to suit any level of flexibility, age or physical condition.  If you have a specific health condition, we recommend an initial assessment with our registered health practitioners.  This enables an appropriate program of care to be established for you, and so that you can practice yoga in a way that will enhance your health and relaxation.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a discipline that is widely practiced for health and relaxation, and incorporates various aspects such as breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures.  The word yoga comes from the word ‘Yuj’ meaning to yoke, bind or unite.  In essence, yoga is the practice of unification of the body, mind and spirit in which the ultimate goal of any yoga practice is to attain moksha, meaning liberation or freedom.  Yoga and meditation offers us the opportunity to help disentangle from whatever blocks or stops us from being free or congruent in our lives by cultivating a sense of openness and awareness, and also educating us on the remarkable connection between mind, body and health.

Small Group Yoga Classes for Beginners to Advanced

Our small group yoga classes are designed for the absolute beginner through to more advanced. With no more than 6 people per class you will experience a personalised and highly supportive approach to help you practice in a way that is safe and sustainable. You don’t have to be a ‘bendy pretzel’ to enjoy a positive and uplifting yoga experience! Our team of dedicated yoga teachers, offer a range of yoga classes of various styles 7 days a week. We cater for a range of needs, including pregnancy. See below for an outline of each class style.  When you find the style that suits you, you can book online or call us to secure your spot.

One-on-One Clinical Yoga

Beginners Vinyasa Yoga  

Catered for the absolute beginner, these classes involve learning a flowing sequence of postures designed to help you gradually build strength, alignment and balance in your body. We aim to assist our clients in learning how to flow through the postures of yoga in a safe and functional manner. Beginners Vinyasa Yoga will give you a great foundation in the Vinyasa Style while helping you to bring yoga into your life.

Vinyasa Yoga

This is the ‘building block’ to our Beginners Vinyasa Yoga class.  Offering a more dynamic paced class designed to give you a great workout and holistic yoga experience.  Vinyasa Yoga is aimed to bring strength, flexibility and fitness, and help bring balance to your body.

Gentle Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slower sequence of postures designed to increase flexibility and encourage a feeling of release and letting go. This style of Yoga focuses on passive, seated postures that target the connective tissues in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Poses are held for anywhere between 1 to 10 minutes. It is a wonderful way to learn the basics of meditation and stilling the mind. It is ideal for athletic types who need to release tension in overworked joints, and it is also good for those who need to relax.

Vin-Yin Yoga

Combines the ‘best of both worlds’ bringing the elements from Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, leaving you feeling both energised and relaxed.  In yoga, ‘yin’ suggests cooling, feminine, and gentle energies, and ‘yang’ reflects heating, masculine, and mobile energies. Through the process of yoga (to yoke or to join) we use active and strong vinyasa with gentle and soothing restorative postures, to create balance and harmony within the body, mind and soul.

Roll and Release Yoga

Many people are familiar with foam rolling, and find it effective at reducing aches, pains and tightness in the body.  As important as it is to stretch, it is also just as important to regularly release tight muscles and fascia, and that’s where Roll & Release Yoga comes in! Our Roll & Release Yoga classes combine self-massage techniques, use of massage balls as well as longer held yoga postures designed to release through the hips, hamstrings and shoulders. Whilst targeting tightness and problematic areas of the body, this class will enable you to relax physically and mentally.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga is a class catered specifically to Pregnancy, giving Women an opportunity to stay strong, mobile and balanced. We use specific breathing techniques to help teach women to achieve a deep sense of relaxation which can be used through birthing and Mothering. This class will help to prepare the body and mind for a healthy, happy pregnancy and birth.

Aromatherapy Yoga

Invigorate your senses with this special class that incorporates gentle yoga with nature’s most powerful elements – aromatherapy essential oils.

We use therapeutic-grade doTERRA essential oils, and these beautiful aromas will bring an added element to your yoga practice. This could include soothing tense or aching muscles, experiencing a detoxifying or cleansing sensation, or releasing old or negative emotions. Each doTERRA essential oil is carefully and thoroughly tested using the strict CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® quality protocol.

The focus and effects of your yoga practice will be intensified by the use of our carefully selected essential oil blends. A perfect way to end your busy day by rejuvenating and relaxing your body and mind!

One-on-One Yoga

One-on-One Yoga is ideal for beginners as an introduction to yoga, or if you are looking to develop and deepen your yoga practice further.  Our one-on-one yoga sessions offer a great opportunity to tailor a yoga practice specifically to your individual needs or health goals.  Our skillful and friendly yoga teachers take the time to address your needs and give you the you the attention needed to help you develop your yoga practice further in a safe and sustainable manner.

Private Group Yoga

This is ideal for a group of friends or work team looking to share an enjoyable experience together, and stay fit. Great as a team building exercise, or simply to enjoy some time with your buddies in a fun and relaxed environment. You’ll enjoy feeling refreshed and more focused, so you can rock on with your day! Couples Yoga

Couples Yoga is all about building and maintaining connection. In this class couples will move through partner yoga poses, as well as techniques to reconnect and develop intimacy. Family Yoga

Our Family Yoga classes are a wonderful way for you and your loved ones to enjoy an activity together, providing the opportunity to connect to each other while moving and mobilizing the body. These classes are delivered in a fun and comfortable environment suited to all levels.

WellFlo Yoga Program for Health Conditions

If you suffer with a health condition, but still want a safe and gentle way to practice yoga, our WellFlo Yoga Program is especially designed for you! The purpose of our WellFlo Yoga Program is to help you participate in the practice of yoga in a safe, healing, and intelligent way.  The program offers you an initial assessment with our Chiropractor to determine how your body is moving and functioning, and the chance to participate in a one-on-one private yoga session with one of our qualified yoga teachers who is fully informed of your health condition and individual needs prior to commencement.  The program also comes with a package of 10 group classes, which you can attend on a weekly basis to help you stay on track with your health goals.
